Fishing

We have a 2 mile stretch of the River Eamont which has been described in the Trout and Salmon magazine ‘as the best wild trout fishing in England’. Guests have a special daily rate and we have tuition available by a local expert who is said to know the river “stone by stone”.

Just beside the river is the ancient tiny church of Ninekirks, which dates back to the 13th Century. It is a peaceful place, only accessible by footpath but is in wonderful condition having been restored in 1660 by Lady Ann Clifford.

It took a size 18 dry Grey Duster fly in the Doffers Pool.
